Keeb nerd stuff

I'm into keyboards, I build them and name them on stream, and I own and have built a pretty sizeable number of them! I keep a database of my builds--complete with photos! §

About me

Hail, and Well-Met!As a fae, I am truly adverse to names, titles, labels, monikers--but it seems all you mortals require them. So you may call me 𝔏𝓊𝓂𝒾𝓃𝕠𝓊𝓈, if you must. I shall simply have to work my magic to make up the difference. 𝔑𝔞𝔪𝔢𝔰 and identifies are valuable currency, after all~
Especially since I snack on them from time to time. I'd rather keep my own off the menu.
I'm vacationing here on this Earth for a bit. I haven't seen this place in a long time, but everything seems a bit more fun than last I was here. So much more freedom for folks such as myself! I've seen so many creatures taking advantage of the tech here, and thought I might do so, too. Making the best of my sabbatical is important--might not get another one til the next millennia! I'm having a good long break from feuding and fighting. There are so many of you. So much potential. So many possibilities...
So many morsels ready for consumption.
Humans still seem a bit skittish of me when I'm not wearing a mortal guise, though--what's that about? Someone said I had too many eyes? Which doesn't make much sense to me. And is a bit rude, frankly. So, for now, I suppose I'll try to keep to looking inconspicuous. I don't need everyone knowing I'm here. For now, I'm crashing in a room at The Wanderer's Library, so that's where you'll have to visit me. They're not charging me rent (for now), and it's an easy way to get to Earth when I want to sightsee. What? You've never been? How unlucky. How primitive. How very Human of you. They say every story that has ever been written, or ever shall be, can be found on its shelves. The Library is currently open to visitors, so feel free to have a browse around!Regardless, I'll be here the next while yet. I'm looking forward to ...sampling what potential there is in this world. (And--perhaps nibble on a tiny corner of it.)

~Luminous lore~

TLDR: Luminous is a Fae of abominable form (currently transformed for human consumption), a Night Witch, who is normally off solving mysteries and battling anomalies that threaten other planets and civilizations. After a few millennia of hard work (and several 'member of the century' awards), she's here on your Earth as part of her sabbatical (fancy word for 'paid extended vacation from work').Fun Fact: Luminous's lore is loosely involves (but is not canon compliant with) SCP lore.Fun Fact #2: She is, by all intents and purposes, nameless. This is just the moniker adopted for streaming. It takes continuous, ongoing magic to protect her from having it stolen while on vacation. If you'd like more detail, read on below!

Fae, by their natures, both steal and consume names, identities, and fates. This makes them quite difficult to deal with! And hard to befriend--there are many pieces of Human folklore that warn against interacting with them:
"Don't ever give them your name. Names are powerful things."
"Do not accept favors from faeries."
"Don't let your children loose in the forest, for there are faerie circles there and they'll be carried away in the night."

Luminous came to being in Taboo, also known as: "the place where the nameless are found", "A World between Worlds", "Fallen Avalon", and similar such things; these descriptions are normally redacted; they're all ways to refer to the woodland area inhabited by the Fae. Without technomancy for use in online pages--such as this one--or other types of protective magic in-person, one cannot normally refer to this place or the people who inhabit it by any consistent names, titles, or labels without putting themselves at significant risk.

After running into a mysterious group called the Wretches of Night, Luminous took on a new identity, and was guided to escape Taboo. That favor didn't come without a cost, however; she was recruited to be a "Malady Hunter". This group of magically-inclined entities travel to different realms, with the goal to eliminate extreme threats in places with no means to defend themselves. She trained with them, using her magic to unravel the essences of these creatures, and is considered an asset to the team--as it is too dangerous to vet and monitor other fae for extraction. The rest is history.

After a few millennia (in revolutions around Sol, the way that Humans measure things), Luminous was granted an award for exemplary service and after assisting (and occasionally leading) many operations: a (short) sabbatical. Having learned a great many things and grown into someone she would herself call "formidable", she felt comfortable peeking in on the state of Earth, a place that had once been both a home, and a prison. She had been many places, and seen many a different peoples, but there were few like Fae--potential made shape, feeding on the plausible existence of others. Now, she was equipped to protect herself from others like her. But what if she didn't need to? What was Earth even like these days?

It was easy enough to get there: The Wanderer's Library connected many planes, many timelines and universes. Navigating its halls was tricky in most cases, however, Humans always made the most noise when discovering or exploring the library, and a group called The Serpent's Hand frequently sought knowledge from its halls, and they themselves were easy enough to trail.

What she discovered was a world full of different possibilities than she had been exposed to as a fledgling fae; the utter chaos of humanity in full drive, the ever watchful eyes of several organizations over the planet--And oh, how much they had to watch. Earth was full of new technologies, wonders, dangers, and so many more non-Humans: Devils, spirits, entities she never thought would set foot near this place other than to destroy it.She was instantly intrigued, and her sabbatical destination set.

My tumble into mechanical keyboards happened during the national shutdowns sparked by the pandemic (I am NA based). This was when I first found out about the hobby, while searching for an alternative to the excuciating flat keyboards that came with laptops. Wireless ones weren't any better, and while I was able to find, unique, gimmicky keyboards that were awful to type on, I didn't know that there was A HUGE COMMUNITY MAKING THE THINGS I WAS LONGING FOR!I binged a bunch of videos, read too many reddit posts, got a cheap keychron to practice modifiying and upgrading, and things took off from there. I've gone from wanting a board that FEELS AND SOUNDS GREAT to collecting boards that ARE CREATIVE IN DESIGN OR INNOVATION, and that I resonate with aesthetically or otherwise! If you're curious about any of my builds so far, take a look at them HERE!
